The Utilities Section of the League of Nebraska Municipalities is a section of the League which provides assistance to members and input to the League on issues related to municipal utilities and public works operations.

Input is provided on a variety of areas, including:

  • Electricity
  • Drinking Water
  • Solid Waste
  • Roads
  • Stormwater Discharge
  • Cable Television
  • Public Works Management
  • Airports
  • Parks & Recreation
  • Rate Setting

The Utilities Sections represents the interests of municipal utility operations on proposed regulations and other matters before various State Agencies.  Technical assistance and training to municipal officials and employees is also provided.  An annual conference is held every January along with numerous meetings and training sessions throughout the year.

A newsletter is published monthly informing members of what is going on within the Utilities Section.  Informative articles and training ideas are also included, giving members a wealth of information in a single source.

The Utilities Section is governed by an Executive Board of utilities and public works officials from Nebraska municipalities.  All members of the League of Nebraska Municipalities are eligible to become Utilities Section Members.  Contact Lash at the League Office for more information about joining.

Be sure to check out our Calendar of Events page for information on upcoming conferences and training workshops.
