In partnership with American Legal Publishing Corporation, the League offers an ordinance codification service to member municipalities for an additional charge. The program consists of two main components:
- Codification of existing ordinances into a code book
American Legal organizes a municipality's ordinances according to logical subject matter, provides a draft copy for review, then prints the revised code book for adoption by the governing body. This process utilizes the League's extensive database of model ordinances.
- Supplements to the code book to reflect later-adopted ordinances
The supplement service keeps the code current not only with new local ordinances, but also with changes in state law that affect the code.
