LB 745: (OCCUPATION TAX) Revenue Committee has scheduled a hearing on the bill on Jan. 25; Sen. Fischer introduced the bill to require a vote of the people for the imposition of a new occupation tax or change in the rate or termination date of a current occupation tax.  If you plan on coming to the hearing and would like to join other testifiers for lunch at noon, please contact the League office by no later than 3 pm Central Time on Jan. 24, so we have enough food available.                                                                  
LB 918: (TIF) Sen. Cornett, Chair of the Revenue Committee, introduced the bill to change provisions of the Community Development Law relating to Tax Increment Financing (TIF). The bill would provide that “a city or village shall not designate as blighted more than 7% of the total actual value of real and personal property of any political subdivision as determined in Section 18-2113.”  The hearing on LB 918 is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 24, before the Urban Affairs Committee at 1:30 pm. If you plan on coming to the hearing and would like to join other testifiers for lunch at noon, please contact the League office by no later than 3 pm Central Time on Jan. 23, so we have enough food available.                                  
LB 932: (SIDs VOTING) Sen. Krist introduced this bill to provide voting rights to residents of sanitary and improvement districts if the conditions outlined in the bill are met. The hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 1:30 pm before the Urban Affairs Committee. If you plan on coming to the hearing and would like to join other testifiers for lunch at noon, please contact the League office by no later than 3 pm Central Time on Jan. 23 so we have enough food available.
